It is fitting that this mass transfer of intergenerational wealth be the
last act of the most selfish generation in human history. The Baby Boomers
gave us post-modernism, recreational drug use, losing a war in Vietnam,
STD's, credit cards, HELOCs, conspicuous consumption, the national debt,
anti-Americanism, affirmative action, debt derivatives, junk bonds,
welfare, the tech bubble, the housing bubble, Clinton, Bush and Obama. Now
they will transfer all of the wealth from their children's children and
retire on the cusp of yet another bubble and wring the last drops of
vitality from 233 years of American capitalism. Everyone else will get the
tax bill and European-style socialism.
